Hacktown Manawatu
HackTown is pressure cooker 2 day event where computer programmers, designers, and other tech enthusiasts come together to collaborate on problem statements or challenges usually tied to a stakeholder or city initiative. These challenges are showcased and participants form teams and work together to create innovative and creative solutions often with a specific theme or focus.
HackTown creates mentorship opportunities, networking events and provides a unique opportunity for participants to learn new skills, exchange ideas, and connect with like-minded individuals. At the end of the event, teams present their projects to a panel of judges, with prizes awarded for the most innovative and impactful solutions.
HackTown is an important part of our ethos here at The Brave Trust. Each event combines youth tech enthusiast with engineers that have ‘been there, done that’ to not only form lifelong skill but to show what technology can look like as a career.
